{"id":147,"date":"2008-01-10T20:34:28","date_gmt":"2008-01-10T19:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danohara.co.uk\/?p=147"},"modified":"2014-03-17T20:28:14","modified_gmt":"2014-03-17T19:28:14","slug":"ballard-in-berlin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/danohara.co.uk\/?p=147","title":{"rendered":"Ballard in Berlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Newly out on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballardian.com\">Ballardian<\/a>, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballardian.com\/you-are-hochhaus-ballard-in-berlin\">interview I did last year with Paul Plamper and Niklas Goldbach<\/a>, who have adapted J. G. Ballard&#8217;s <em>High Rise<\/em> into a German radio play and film. Called <em>Hochhaus<\/em>, the adaptation is, for my money, the best adaptation of Ballard yet; more entertaining than Spielberg, more sensitive to Ballard&#8217;s subtleties than Cronenberg. Ballard&#8217;s 1975 novel is transplanted to Berlin in 2013, giving it an entirely different and very suggestive historical context.
